Amir Riyahi

Amir Riyahi is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering working in Dr. Kjellerup's Biofilm lab at the University of Maryland College Park. He received his master’s degree from the University of Stuttgart where he evaluated the introduction of persistent organic pollutants into the Rhine River. Amir has worked in both the private sector as a project engineer and the public sector as an associate researcher for the German Ministry of Environment. His current research aims to elucidate the dynamics of adsorption and biodegradation for enhanced biostimulation of contaminated groundwater.
