Dilara is a third-year PhD student in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Maine. She earned her master’s degree in environmental engineering from Middle East Technical University in Turkey, where she was granted as an outstanding graduate student by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey. Dilara has also been recognized by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) as the recipient of the 2024 Dr. Abel Wolman Fellowship to support her doctoral studies focusing on thermal regeneration of PFAS-laden granular activated carbons.
