Dr. Faran Vahedian is an environmental engineer with more than 10 years of experience working on cutting-edge research and engineering problems related to contaminant fate and transport, as well as subsurface modeling. Faran earned her PhD from the Colorado School of Mines in September 2024. During her PhD, she was heavily involved in various federal projects, including a SERDP project where she studied PFAS fate and transport in the vadose zone and modified and validate Hydrus model to account for selected complex processes governing PFAS behavior in the vadose zone. Faran is currently a research engineer at EA, working on various projects funded by WRF, SERDP-ESTCP, and EPA-ORD.
