Joe Charbonnet, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering at Iowa State University. He completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Colorado School of Mines, his PhD and MS at the University of California, Berkeley, and his BS at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on the identification of inorganic and organic contaminants, including PFAS, plasticizers, nutrients, and metals. The toxic contaminant Dr. Charbonnet most closely identifies with is lead, because he considers himself flexible and somewhat dense.
