Kiheon is a fifth-year PhD student working with Dr. Michael S. Wong at Rice University in Houston, TX. His primary research focuses on developing palladium-based catalysts for efficient thermocatalytic nitrate/nitrite reduction reactions. This involves developing the catalysts through better material synthesis strategies, aiming to achieve a better understanding of the mechanisms behind the enhanced reactions. He is currently focusing on substituting a portion of precious metal, palladium, with more earth-abundant metals to develop techno-economically viable catalysts for drinking water treatment.
