Dr. Megan Hart is an Assistant Professor in the University of Missouri Kansas City Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering. She is an internationally recognized expert in the area of contaminant containment and the development of novel remedial treatment technologies. Prior to joining UMKC, Megan worked as an environmental engineer and subject matter expert representing various companies, law firms, and regulatory agencies. Her current research areas include the passive remediation of emerging water contaminants, geopolymers and modified clays for waste containment, applications of beneficial reuse of waste byproducts, and lifecycle analysis of remedial alternatives for drinking water, groundwater, industrial, leachate, and reclamation waters. Treatment technology developed in her lab are installed on various sites for remediation of metals, coal combustion residuals, and other contaminated waters.
