Dr. Sudheera Yaparatne is an environmental chemist and currently a postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). His research focuses on advancing innovative and sustainable methods for water and wastewater treatment, with a particular emphasis on the removal of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). His specialization includes nanobubble applications in environmental contexts, nano photocatalysts, analytical chemistry, and material characterization. He received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Maine in 2021.
