Emma Payne is a PhD candidate at the University of Colorado Boulder, advised by Professor Karl Linden. Her interests are in water reuse and sustainable water supply and access. Her dissertation research explores a new UV source called a krypton chloride excimer lamp and its applications to UV advanced oxidation treatment of contaminated water. Emma is also pursuing a graduate certificate in global engineering from CU’s Mortenson Center in Global Engineering and Resilience and serves on the organizing committee for the Colorado Water, Sanitation and Hygiene symposium. Emma obtained her bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from Cornell University.
